Discussion

An active weather pattern has begun for the Mid-Atlantic region and for much of the nation as well and we’ll have to deal with multiple storms this week. One low pressure area will move from the Ohio Valley today to New England by later tomorrow. Another storm will move towards the Great Lakes region by early Thursday creating a snowstorm for the Upper Midwest and this storm will then whip a strong cold front across our region later Thursday night. Winds will pick up on Friday behind the front and afternoon temperatures will likely drop and the cold and windy conditions will likely last right to Christmas Day. There can be some snow shower activity in the Mid-Atlantic region once the cold air arrives late this week and early this weekend. Another storm seems destined to cross the country next week from the southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic region and it will have lots of cold air to work with. That storm is likely to reach the Mid-Atlantic region by the middle of the week.
