Discussion

While today will be quite cold, it is really just a teaser for what is coming for the early and middle parts of next week. First, today's cold will be just a one-day wonder as this air mass will quickly retreat this weekend and we'll experience milder conditions on Saturday and Sunday. Second, the cold air mass that arrives for the early and middle parts of next week will be even colder than today's outbreak. Temperatures today will hold in the low 30’s and there will be a stiff wind along with some passing early morning snow showers. After milder weather on Saturday, a strong cold front will whip through the region on Sunday (you’ll notice a big increase in winds on Sunday) and this will usher in the coldest air yet for the early and middle parts of next week.
