Discussion

Fast-moving low pressure systems that drop out of south-central Canada towards the Mid-Atlantic region are referred to in the weather community as "clippers" and we will be riding the "clipper" train over the next several days. Several of these type of disturbances will have to be watched over the next several days as, even though they will be limited in moisture content, it’ll be cold enough for snow and small accumulations are possible. The first such disturbance will cause some snow shower activity this morning from DC to South Jersey and we'll have nothing more than a flurry and then the second system will bring us the chance for some snow or snow showers Saturday night and Sunday. A third system could throw some snow our way by around Tuesday of next week and there is even the chance for fourth disturbance to deal with by the end of next week.
