The storm that dumped a lot of snow across the central Plains and Upper Midwest will undergo a weakening process today as it grinds to a halt over the Great Lakes region. Some of the moisture that remains from this system will move into our area by early tonight and it’ll be cold enough for a light wintry mix of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain and there can be an ice build-up on trees along with slippery spots on untreated road surfaces. Over the weekend, another storm will take shape in the Southeast US and it will become an important coastal storm that should bring plain rain to the DC-to-Philly-to-NYC corridor on Saturday, but snow to much of New England as has been the case the last couple of weekends.
