Discussion

The major Mid-Atlantic storm that stayed to our south yesterday is not quite done yet with this part of the country. This storm is now spinning well off the coast, and it will swing a narrow trough of low pressure southwestward along the Northeast coastline over the next 24 hours. In fact, precipitation is already rotating in a southwesterly direction along the coast and we could get some rain and/or snow showers here by the end of the morning continuing off and on into the evening. By later tonight, it should be just cold enough for all snow that could last into the early morning hours with accumulations possible on the order of 2-5 inches along with some slippery spots on untreated surfaces. Once that trough swings on through the area by later tomorrow, it’ll open the door for some big changes temperature-wise for the weekend and early part of next week. "Spring-fever" alert for Sunday and Monday as temperatures should soar through the 50's, but a cold front on Tuesday will usher in colder air by the middle of next week.
