Discussion
A powerful upper level low with significant upper level wind support will generate strong wind gusts in southern California to begin the new week. Gusts to 40 mph are likely along coastal regions this afternoon with up to 70 mph gusts possible in the mountains from this system to start the week along with dry conditions and increasing amounts of sunshine. These strong winds are likely to cause power outages with downed limbs and power lines later today into tonight. A warming trend kicks in at mid-week, but it’ll be short-lived as it’ll turn cooler again late in the week.
