Discussion
High pressure builds into the region for the weekend and temperatures will rebound slightly to more pleasant levels on both weekend days. Skies will be mainly clear today, tonight and on Saturday, but there will be some increase in cloudiness on Sunday as moisture to our southwest heads our way. By the way, the moon will be nearly full again tonight and Saturn will be rather close by in the eastern sky not long after dark. (The SI Weather Facebook page currently has an image from last night of the moon and Saturn on the shores of Lake Superior in Bayfield, Wisconsin courtesy of spaceweather.com). Once the moisture arrives in the Mid-Atlantic region, it looks like it will stick around for at least the first half of the new week producing lots of clouds around here and scattered showers. Looking even farther ahead, there is the potential for a major rain event around next weekend or so from a potential significant coastal low pressure system.
