Discussion
A broad area of low pressure over the southeastern states is drifting very slowly to the northeast and will pass over the region in the next couple of days. There will be an occasional shower today or some drizzle at times and then heavier, steadier rain will become widespread tonight and early Wednesday. Some of the rain will be heavy at times later tonight and early Wednesday and a couple of thunderstorms can be mixed in. It'll get milder on Thursday, and then Friday will see a summer-like flirt with the 80 degree mark, but the unsettled conditions will continue on both of those days with scattered showers and thunderstorms still possible. A couple of cold fronts will pass through the region this weekend and that will set the stage for cooler weather along with the threat for showers. A very chilly air mass for this time of year will make its way to the Northeast US by early next week following the passage of the second cold front later in the weekend.
