Discussion

An extensive and strong upper level high pressure ridge will build westward into the interior western states over the next couple of days and the result will be a small shift in wind direction in the southern Rockies from southwest to northwest. This subtle change in wind direction might actually allow for some low level moisture to advance northward into Colorado by the end of the week and this will act to gradually increase our chances for showers and thunderstorms. Also, the northwest flow of air will act to promote a downward trend in temperatures with highs by early next week likely confined to the low and middle 80’s.
