Discussion
An extensive and strong upper level ridge will build westward into the interior western states over the next couple of days and the result will be a major warm up across southern California; especially, at inland locations. Temperatures will climb to or slightly above 80 degrees along coastal sections by the weekend and to perhaps record levels at inland locations at or above 100 degrees. The hot weather looks like it will last into early next week as the upper level ridge remains in control in the western states.
