Discussion

Cold air is firmly entrenched in the Mid-Atlantic region following the weekend storm and temperatures today will struggle to reach the 30 degree mark. A couple of quick-moving clipper systems will track our way on Tuesday generating two rounds of snow for the region. Round one is likely to arrive in time to have an impact on the morning rush hour and it will be hard to get to work before it begins. Snow will likely break out after 3 or 4am and then continue into the early-to-mid afternoon with 2-4 inches of total accumulations possible. Then, after a cloudy and chilly late-afternoon on Tuesday, a second system will bring a round of snow showers to the region later tomorrow night that could actually generate additional small accumulations. The next couple of days this week will be dry and moderately cold and then it’ll turn noticeably milder at the end of the week with showers likely.
