Discussion

A cold front passed through the region on Thursday causing a burst of snow during the morning hours in parts of the I-95 corridor. High pressure will build back into the area for today and tomorrow and then an area of low pressure will move northeastward from the Gulf of Mexico later this weekend. Rain is likely on Sunday from this system and some of it will be heavy at times; however, a brief mix with snow cannot be completely ruled out at both the beginning and end time periods of this event. High pressure will return early next week bringing more chilly weather to the region. In fact, by New Years Day (Wednesday), temperatures may struggle to get out of the 20's.
