Discussion

A quick thumping of snow this morning is associated with milder air trying to advance into the Mid-Atlantic region and it will finally succeed and become noticeably milder during the second half of the week. A strong cold front, however, will cross the region on Friday and this will begin a downward trend in temperatures after a 3-day break from Wednesday through Friday. The approaching cold front on Friday may actually generate some strong thunderstorm activity in the Mid-Atlantic region with some gusty winds. Much colder air will return to the region later next week.
