Discussion
A warm front is working its way through the region this morning and a cool front will approach the region this afternoon. As a result, there will continue to be some instability in the atmosphere today throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely reform this afternoon and early evening. Any shower that develops can bring some brief heavy rainfall to the area and there is a chance that some thunderstorms that form will be on the strong side with gusty winds and possible hail. The cool front will pass through and usher in slightly cooler air for Friday and Saturday and there still can be an isolated shower or thunderstorm on both of these days in much of the Mid-Atlantic region. High pressure will arrive along the east coast by Sunday and then this high will shift off the coast into a “Bermuda High” type of position early next week and the result should be a couple of 80+ degrees days in the Mid-Atlantic region on Monday and Tuesday.
