Discussion
A backdoor cold front slipped through the region yesterday and an ocean flow of air has become well-established with low-level E-NE winds. The combination of the cooler ocean air and copious amounts of clouds will keep temperatures way down today compared to normal for this time of year in what will likely turn out to be the coolest day of the week. There can be an occasional shower today or a touch of drizzle at times in the region between DC and Philly, but New York City should be dry with some sunshine. Tomorrow promises to be somewhat more unsettled once again with slightly warmer temperatures and an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm possible. The timing might just be perfect for another very nice weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region as high pressure looks like it will build into the area at the right time generating plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures and humidity levels.
