Discussion

A slow-moving cold front will reach the Mid-Atlantic region later today trailing a low pressure system that will slide to the north of the area. Showers and thunderstorms are likely by tonight and some of the rain can be heavy at times. After early morning clouds and possible lingering showers on Thursday, more comfortable air will push into the area and remain into the weekend.
