Discussion
The month of July ended up slightly below normal in the DC, Philly and NYC metro regions and August is off to a cooler-than-normal start. There will be rather typical heat and humidity during the next few days, but then a cool front will usher in cooler and less humid air for Thursday and Friday. Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Bertha will stay well off the east coast as it turns away during the mid-week. It could reach weak hurricane status before turning away from the coast, but its only effect around here will be some rough surf in coastal waters.
