Discussion
High pressure now sitting over the Northeast US will be the main player on the weather scene during the next couple of days as it will remain rather stationary. As a result, there will be plenty of sunshine through tomorrow with relatively comfortable temperatures and humidity levels. By Wednesday, however, humidity and warmth will increase ahead of a cool frontal system as the high slides off the northeast coastline promoting a southwesterly flow of air. That front could spark a shower or thunderstorm Wednesday night before yet another refreshing air mass returns to the Mid-Atlantic region for the latter part of the week. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Cristobal formed yesterday near the Bahama Islands and all indications are that it will stay east of the US coastline this week before it turns away to the northeast. Cristobal certainly can reach hurricane status over the next couple of days as it meanders off the east coast and it will continue to be closely monitored.
