Discussion
A cool front moved through the region last and the result will be a much more comfortable air mass for today and Friday with slightly below normal temperatures and low humidity levels for this time of year. High pressure will be in charge through tomorrow, but then will slide off the east coast and this movement will allow for the return of much warmer and more humid air as the weekend progresses with an increasing shot at showers and thunderstorms. That threat for showers and thunderstorms will arrive on Sunday in much of the Mid-Atlantic region and continue on Monday and Tuesday as well. At the nearby Atlantic Ocean beaches, there will be high waves and possible rip currents today and on Friday as a result of the effects of Hurricane Cristobal which is racing away from the coastline towards the open North Atlantic. The high waves and rip current threat should subside this weekend.
