Discussion
Cooler and drier air pushed into the Mid-Atlantic region yesterday and it will stay cool today with thickening clouds ahead of a developing coastal low pressure system. That system will spread some occasional rain or drizzle into the region later today, tonight and Tuesday and temperatures will hold in the 70's for highs as there will be a cool, ocean flow of air at low levels of the atmosphere. By Wednesday, partial sunshine will return to the area as the low pulls away from the region and then there will be a noticeable warmup on Thursday ahead of the next strong cool front. That cool front will generate afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and it will usher in the coolest air mass of the season so far to the Mid-Atlantic region. The weekend appears quite cool and dry from this vantage point and temperatures will be well below normal for this time of year.
