Discussion
A weak cool front will pass through the region later today and this will usher in reinforcing cool air for the Mid-Atlantic region to close out the work week. In fact, high temperatures on Friday will struggle to pass the 70 degree mark with high pressure centered over New England producing a cool flow of air out of the northeast. By the weekend, this high will shift offshore and this movement will allow the winds to shift to a southwesterly direction and we’ll get increasingly warmer over the weekend. By Sunday afternoon, much of the I-95 corridor from DC-to-NYC will experience high temperatures at or above the 80 degree mark, but the late weekend warmup will be rather short-lived. Another cool front will usher in a cool air mass by Monday and those cooler-than-normal conditions should continue into mid-week.
