Discussion
Yesterday’s coastal storm has departed to the northeast and a moderately cold air mass has moved into the Mid-Atlantic region in its wake. It’ll stay moderately cold for much of this week and we’ll be watching a “clipper” system as it drops southeastward across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest over the next 24 hours and reaches the Northeast US at mid-week. This system will likely spread snow into parts of the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday and it will then reinforce the cold air around here for the latter part of the week. Accumulations of a coating to a couple of inches are possible later Wednesday and it could have an impact on the evening commute.
