Discussion
High pressure is in control of our weather in the Mid-Atlantic region as we start the new work week and warm air will push in from the southwest boosting afternoon temperatures to 80+ degrees. It’ll stay warm on Tuesday, but the approach of a cool front will increase chances for showers later in the day and at night, perhaps even a thunderstorm, and that front could stall nearby causing somewhat unsettled conditions on Wednesday. Elsewhere, a slow-moving “tropical-like” system will form this week off the Southeast US coastline and there is a small chance that it develops into the first officially-named tropical system of the season.
