Discussion
High pressure builds into the region today and we’ll experience relatively decent weather for the next couple of days as we close out the work week. The weekend is shaping up to be rather summer-like with high temperatures in the 80's and there will be a noticeable increase in humidity. The increase in moisture content will generate some clouds on each weekend day and help produce the chance for a daily shower or thunderstorm. In addition, late night and early morning patchy fog may become an issue during the weekend and into the early part of next week.
Elsewhere, while the Mid-Atlantic region is featuring summer-like weather this weekend, the Rockies and Northern Plains will cool down dramatically - Denver, Colorado, for example, could actually receive accumulating snow. This clash of cold air in the western US and warm, humid air in the East will also likely lead to an outbreak of severe weather across the Plains.
