Discussion

Low pressure over the Great Lakes region will push a cool front our way later today and it is likely to spark a few showers and thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic region, but rainfall is not expected to be as widespread as late yesterday. The cool front will then stall out just to the south and east of the I-95 corridor and this close proximity will keep the weather somewhat unsettled later in the week and into the weekend.

Looking back on yesterday's storms...there is ample evidence to believe that a tornado touched down in the Honey Brook section of western Chester County at around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon. Eyewitness accounts (and video) indicate a funnel cloud moved into western Chester County and then a tornado was seen by several and there were shingles ripped off of a barn's roof. This particular thunderstorm cell then moved into the Lehigh Valley and areas like Allentown experienced some damaging wind gusts. The National Weather Service is sending a team of investigators to try to verify this report.
