Discussion

So far this summer season, Philly Airport has officially reached 90 degrees on ten occasions which is actually less compared to last year at this same point in time. We will certainly add to that total this Sunday - with perhaps the hottest weather yet this year - and perhaps on Monday as well; however, the hot spell shouldn't last beyond Monday.

After a nice day to end the work week, the comfortable weather vanishes this weekend as a warm front ushers in hotter air from our southwest. The approach and passage of this warm frontal system will bring back the threat for showers and thunderstorms to our area late tonight and at anytime on Saturday and some of these storms can be on the strong side. Following the passage of the warm front on Sunday, hot air will come pouring into the I-95 corridor and temperatures will soar well up into the 90's - perhaps the highest temperatures so far this year. While it remains pretty hot on Monday, clouds will increase as a cool front approaches and showers and thunderstorms are possible. More comfortable air returns for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week following the passage of the cool frontal system.
