Discussion
Numerous low temperature records this morning in the northeastern US with this early winter preview and some locations downwind of the Great Lakes received significant accumulating snow (e.g., 9 inches at Syracuse, NY). The cold air mass that arrived in the Mid-Atlantic region over the weekend will keep us chilly for another 24 hours or so; however, much milder air will ride in later tomorrow on increasingly strong southwesterly winds and it should stay mild on Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, high temperatures are likely to reach or surpass the 70 degree mark in the NYC metro region on Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front will bring much cooler air back to the region at the end of the week.
