High pressure will re-establish itself in the region today, but it will not stick around for too long. Another cold frontal system will approach the region on Thursday and it should generate more rain for the I-95 corridor. Cooler air will follow the frontal system to close out the work week on Friday and there will be a stiff W-NW wind. A secondary cold front will pass through the region on Friday night and it will usher in even colder air for the upcoming weekend and the strong winds will continue into Sunday. Elsewhere today, a powerful storm will bring cold and accumulating snow to parts of the west and central US (e.g., Colorado to Nebraska) and severe weather will be possible in the storm's warm flank across the Midwest and Ohio Valley.
