Discussion
A cold frontal system passed through the region in the overnight hours and a much cooler air mass has pushed into the Mid-Atlantic region compared to previous days. Winds will be quite strong today and temperatures will generally be confined to the 50’s this afternoon along with a mix of clouds and sun. A secondary cold front will slide through tonight and Saturday promises to be the coldest day of this cold air outbreak. In fact, high temperatures on Saturday will struggle to reach the 50 degree mark in the DC metro region and the winds will continue to whip along out of the W-NW - not a good day to rake leaves. Much calmer conditions are likely on Sunday, but it’ll stay quite cool despite plenty of sunshine. Milder air returns to the Mid-Atlantic region for the early part of next week.
