Discussion
A back door cold front has slipped through the region and temperatures today will be some ten degrees cooler than yesterday along with an E-NE wind. Milder air will push back into the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday as wind direction changes to south-to-southwest. A few showers are possible late Wednesday and Wednesday night with the return of the milder air, and then more significant rainfall is expected on Thursday associated with a cold frontal system. The passage of that initial cold frontal system and a secondary cold front during the weekend will set us up for progresively colder weather between Friday and Sunday. Elsewhere, another snowstorm hit the Denver, CO region yesterday with as much as 10 inches of snow and tornadoes broke out in the central Plains in the warm sector of a strong storm system.
