Discussion
Nothing but good news for the upcoming weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region with plenty of sunshine, light winds, and comfortable temperatures on both days. Sprawling high pressure across the Upper Midwest and Northeast US will be in control this weekend and we'll have to wait until late Tuesday for the next shot at showers and thunderstorms from the next cold frontal system. Elsewhere, a very strong upper-level ridge of high pressure is now setting up over the Southwest US and it will bring tremendous heat on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to places like Las Vegas, Phoenix and Death Valley. No excessive heat is in sight for the Mid-Atlantic region.
