Discussion
High pressure will move offshore today and a slow-moving cold front will approach from the northwest tonight and Tuesday. With the approach of the slow-moving cold front, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase by late in the afternoon and that threat may continue right into tomorrow night. The front should finally pass through by mid-week and temperatures will be quite comfortable later in the week. In fact, there is still no extensive hot weather in sight for the Mid-Atlantic region as upper-level troughing will continue to dominate across the Northeast US and southeastern Canada preventing any sustained heat from building up around here.
