Discussion
A cold front passed through the region late yesterday and today will turn out noticeably cooler along with a stiff breeze. The atmosphere will become very unstable today given the combination of unusually cold air aloft, the strength of the June sun which will attempt to warm up lower levels of the atmosphere, and an upper-level disturbance. As a result, instability showers are likely between the mid-morning and mid-afternoon hours and there can even be a thunderstorm or two with possible small hail and damaging wind gusts; especially, across the northern suburbs. The next couple of days look pretty decent, but a little bit on the cool side of normal for this time of year.
