Discussion
Hot weather is in store for the Mid-Atlantic region from today through early next week in what is "climatologically-speaking" the peak time for temperatures in the summer season. A frontal system will approach the area later today and it will likely set off a round of showers and thunderstorms in the I-95 corridor anytime between 2 and 8pm and some of the storms can be on the strong side. The passage of the front will provide us with no relief from the heat this weekend and temperatures will soar into the 90's on both days. Another frontal system will approach late Monday bringing with it more in the way of showers and thunderstorms by late in the day or at night. The first couple of days of the new work week will continue to feature hot conditions and high temperatures well up in the 90's.
