Discussion
A strong cold front will slowly work its way through the region today and it’ll generate more showers and possible thunderstorms. Some of the rain today can be heavy at times and some of the wind gusts can be damaging up to 60 mph. Cooler air will move into the area late tonight and on Wednesday following the frontal passage and it’ll stay on the cool side on Thursday and Friday as well. By the weekend, attention will turn upstream to yet another strong cold front that will be dropping southeast from the Northern Plains. This next front could ultimately result in significant rain for the I-95 corridor on Sunday and it then might be followed by another cold shot for the early part of next week.
