Discussion
After a long stretch with primarily cooler-than-normal conditions, summer will explode onto the scene over the next couple of days and 90 degrees can be reached for highs in the DC metro region on both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. It'll stay quite warm on Friday and then temperatures will slide back this weekend following the passage of a weak frontal system and the building of high pressure across the Northeast US. Looking ahead, there will likely be more cool shots for the Northeast US as we progress through May. In fact, there are early signs for a decent cool shot to arrive here during the Memorial Day weekend.
