The hottest week of the summer so far continues today with afternoon highs likely reaching the 95 degree mark. The upper part of the atmosphere is drier than recent days and this will inhibit showers and thunderstorms and also the likelihood of any prolonged cloudy spells. As a result, temperatures should soar towards the middle 90's for highs for the remainder of the week across much of the interior Southeast US.
