Discussion

The hottest week of the summer so far continues as we close out the work week with highs today reaching the middle 90’s. The upper part of the atmosphere is still rather dry and this will inhibit showers and thunderstorms for another day. Rain chances, however, will increase this weekend as the atmosphere will become more unstable and a bit more moist at upper levels. As far as relief in the heat and humidity is concerned, a frontal passage is likely to usher in some slight relief for northern Alabama during the early part of next week.
