The remains of Hurricane Harvey will continue to result in torrential rainfall for parts of Texas and Louisiana with as much as 20 additional inches of rain possible in some sections over the next few days. Last week’s greatest fears of upwards of 3 or 4 feet of rain is coming to fruition in some parts of the Texas and massive flooding has been the result. Another tropical system is riding up along the Southeast US coastline today and it’ll actually head to the Outer Banks of North Carolina before turning away from the coast and out to sea. Clouds and possible showers should arrive from Tuesday into Wednesday in parts of the I-95 corridor and significant rain will take place in southeastern Virginia, southern New Jersey, and parts of the Delmarva Peninsula. There is still no excessive heat in sight for the Mid-Atlantic region as the month of August winds down.
