Discussion
A “clipper-like” low pressure system will drop southeastward across the Great Lakes today and it is bringing rain and snow showers to parts of the Mid-Atlantic region. This system will also drag a cold front through the area tonight and much colder-than-normal air will head into the region for the weekend after a brief spike in temperatures this afternoon. A couple of waves of low pressure will form along this cold frontal boundary zone on Saturday and likely throw mixed precipitation into the I-95 corridor and there can be some accumulating snow as well. While this does not appear to be a significant event, the second wave of energy that "hangs back" for later tomorrow has to still be monitored as a small shift can have a big impact. Stay tuned.
