Discussion
There is a major warm up coming here later this week and for the weekend, but it will be just a temporary break in the overall cold weather pattern that we have been experiencing for several weeks now. Clouds will thicken up today as low pressure forms along the SE US coastline and there can be some rain and snow shower activity at anytime from today into early tomorrow. It stays chilly at mid-week, but then the warm up begins in earnest on Thursday and the mid-to-upper 70's are quite likely for highs on Friday and Saturday. The transition back to next week's colder weather may not come quietly this weekend as there is likely to be a widespread severe weather outbreak for much of the central and eastern US and a heavy rain event here in the Sunday/Monday time frame.
