Discussion
A cold front will approach the region from the north later today and then it’ll stall out just to our south this weekend and waves of low pressure will ride along the boundary zone. While this will unfolding pattern will raise the chances for showers and thunderstorms for the weekend, it should not turn out to be a total washout as there should be plenty of rain-free time. High pressure developing to our north on Sunday will try to bring some clearing to the Mid-Atlantic region by the late stages of the weekend with better chances for nicer weather on Sunday in New York City and not as likely in those areas to the south of the PA/MD border (e.g., DC metro region).
