Discussion
A strong cool front will approach the region later today and there can be a band of strong-to-severe thunderstorms that develop just ahead of this system with a possible impact here late in the day or early tonight. The best chance for brief downpours and potential strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity will likely come somewhere in the 2-10PM time period. Following the frontal passage, the weekend should turn out to be pretty decent around here with some sunshine expected each day, but the overall weather pattern shaping up for next week has a rather familiar and wet look to it. In fact, there is likely to be more soaking rainfall next week in the already well-saturated eastern US as a persistent south-to-north flow of moist air develops along the eastern seaboard – in much the same fashion as it did earlier this week.
