Discussion
A ridge of high pressure centered over the western Atlantic will continue to dominate the weather scene around here by pumping very warm and humid air into the region. As a result, the daily shot at scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into next week and high temperatures will approach the 90 degree mark on a daily basis. The tropics remain rather quiet as the combination of Saharan Desert air, wind shear and colder-than-normal waters off of Africa continue to suppress overall activity.
