Discussion
A cool front will cross the area later today and raise the chances for scattered late day and evening showers and thunderstorms, but it will not be a significant event and it can stay completely dry in some areas. This front then grudgingly inch to our southeast on Friday while weakening. The close proximity of the frontal boundary zone will keep it unsettled around here on Friday and through the weekend with plenty of clouds around and the threat for an occasional shower and thunderstorm. Meanwhile, the tropical Atlantic looks like it will become more active as soon as the calendar turns from August to September this weekend. There may actually be a westward-moving tropical system near the Florida Peninsula by the time Labor Day (Monday) rolls around which could then spill out over the Gulf of Mexico.
