Discussion

High pressure ridging will generate a southwesterly flow of air over the next few days resulting in continued hot weather around here with high temperatures in the lower 90’s. In addition, there will be enough low-level instability and moisture around to allow for the formation of scattered showers and thunderstorms through the upcoming weekend. The nearby part of the tropical Atlantic is still relatively quiet, but we’ll closely monitor activity as the climatological peak of the season fast approaches. The annual Perseid meteor shower peaks this weekend so the potential unsettled weather could result in unfavorable viewing conditions.
