There should be no more talk for awhile about a DC "snow hole" after the weekend event...10+ inches at Reagan National Airport (DCA), Dulles Airport (IAD) and in Chantilly, VA - even more than that in some locations. Low pressure will pull away from the Mid-Atlantic coastline today and high pressure will build into the region for the first part of the new work week. Temperatures over the next few days will be moderately cold for this time of year and there should be plenty of sunshine each day. Another cold front will approach on Wednesday night and usher in reinforcing chilly air for Thursday. Weak low pressure may produce some rain and snow activity around here on Thursday night. Another cold front will arrive in the eastern US this weekend and strong low pressure may form along the frontal boundary zone. This weekend event will transition us to very cold air that should reach us by early next week and that transition may feature a lot of rain, ice and/or snow...stay tuned.
