Discussion

Arctic air flooded the Mid-Atlantic region late yesterday and today will be one of the coldest days of the year so far. Despite sunshine, temperatures will have a hard time climbing to the 20's and the breeze will remain a noticeable factor through at least the mid-day hours. The winds do die down by early tonight and then temperatures should drop back to the low-to-mid teens as clouds increase. On Friday, a quick hitting low pressure system could throw a bit of snow into the Mid-Atlantic region, but it is moving too quickly to be a significant snow producer. It’ll remain chilly on Saturday, but milder air will push in early next week and the break in the cold could last through next Thursday.
