Discussion
Today will be the hottest day of the week and quite unusually warm for the early part of October. In fact, record highs are possible in some spots later today as temperatures make a run to the 90 degree mark. It’ll turn much cooler on Thursday following the passage of a back door cool frontal system in the overnight hours and then a secondary cool front will usher in a reinforcing cool air mass for Friday and Saturday. It’ll turn warmer again early next week and there may even be a decent rain event along the I-95 corridor during the Sunday night/Monday time period - a rarity in recent weeks.
