Discussion
A colder-than-normal air mass has dropped into the western US and will spread across the central US by the middle of the week. A strong cold front at the leading edge of this air mass will trek across the nation over the next few days and arrive in the Tennessee Valley later in the week with some heavy rainfall and possible strong-to-severe thunderstorms. Following the passage of the front, much cooler air will push into the region for the end of the week and upcoming weekend.
